Big improvement over my Dreame W10. Horrible Wi-Fi pairing experience.
This is my 4th robo vac, I still own a Nomo N2 and the W10 from Dreame both of which are still deployed. The N2 is very low entry, it uses the drag behind mop while both the W10 and the Roborock use the spinning mops combo which is way better at cleaning hard floors. The S pro is positioned as a mid tier vac, it has the heated water feature for cleaning the mop pads and dries them with hot air to reduce the chances of bacterial growth developing in the mop bay while not in use. The Dreame doesn't have that feature and over the past 4 years of use I haven't had any issues with smells but I did notice grease/gunk buildup on the pads after a few months of use especially when cleaning around the kitchen table where the babies eat and throw food on the ground. So far the Qrevo has kept the pads looking good and I think the hot water rinsing/cleaning is the main reason for that. Another improvement over the Dreame is the side brush, this one actually reaches all the way up to the walls and baseboards to get every piece of dirt out. The mops on the other hand perform the same as the W10's, they leave about a 1 inch gap of untouched floor around the baseboards/walls since the S plus doesn't have the extendable mop feature like the higher end models. IMO the extendable side brush (which Roborock calls Flexi-Arm) is not necessarily needed as this regular one does the job pretty well as is. The mop pads extending would have made this better though. Navigation is done well, it bumps into things way less often that the Dreame and it also figures out alternative paths pretty quick if it detects obstacles in its way. Because of the lower profile it also doesn't get stuck under cabinets or coffee tables like the Dreame. In fact it hasn't gotten stuck once since I've been using it over the past couple weeks whereas the W10 needed at least 2 nudges to get it going again with each cleaning. I am confident to leave this thing alone while it's cleaning which was not the case with the old vac. Big + there. It is also way quieter than my W10, I can actually run it while people sleep and it's barely audible. The only loud part is the self emptying but that can be tweaked based on a schhedule with do not disturb hours or even automatically by the smart features built into the robot/app. Another improvement is the reach this has, it goes over taller obstacles with ease (taller carper edges, small room dividers) and the carpet detection feature work very well all the time. Once it learns your house it will start with vacuuming the carpets first without wetting the mop pads so it doesn't put any water on them, only after it's done with them does it wet the mops to do the hard floor portion of your home. I like that feature a lot as well. My only gripe and the biggest one is the WiFi pairing, it was a complete nightmare that took more than 24h to figure out and multiple emails with Roborock support (which was pretty quick to respond - about 8 to 12h in average) who did help in figuring out that it was a connectivity issue at the core of the WiFi debacle. Basically you cannot have strick security rules on your WiFi, even whitelisting all traffic to and from the S Pro didn't solve it, a network wide decrease in security settings from high to medium was required on my main gateway to get this to finalize the connection setup process. Some main rules to sail with ease through the setup are: 1) WiFi must be 2.4Ghz (no 5g or 6 on the newer routers) 2) WiFi name and password must NOT contain ANY special characters ( \-,.;') 3) You cannot have ANY WAN to LAN port/service blocking of any sorts, that displeases the app and the robot never finishes the setup process (it gets and IP on the network but doesn't allow the user to enter the app and use any of the features of the robot) Apparently this has been an ongoing issue with Roborock for their mid to low tier vacs for years, it's disappointing to see they haven't figured it out in 2026. I am not a novice in network security and hardware troubleshooting but this was something I've never seen before and the router/pihole/device logs didn't point to any specific culprits. Overall I am happy with the vacuum and how it cleans, I think it's a good choice for mid tier with solid performance but not all the bells like the higher priced stuff (flexi arms, climbing over obstacles abilities, mop lift of more than 10mm or even leaving mops in the bay).
